Hello World! I’m Gemma

Welcome to Daily Gem! I’m Gemma, and I’ll be your tour guide today.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Gemma. She was a very happy little girl, and very smart too. Up until Gemma was in 2nd grade, she wanted to be a ducky-ballerina-swimmer-princess-ski instructor-detective. Still, she wasn’t sure if that would be too much to handle, so she decided that she would be an author. In 2nd grade, Gemma wrote some really cool stories, she would write almost every day. As the years went on, Gemma entered some writing contests, and won many certificates! Gemma really liked school, she was good at many subjects, but English and writing were always her favorite.

Throughout this time, Gemma also danced. In 3rd grade, she became a competitive dancer and made lots of new friends. When she first started dancing, Gemma didn’t think that it would become a big part of her life. But, when she was first introduced to the world of stage and musical theatre, she finally realized how much she loved it. In middle school, Gemma started taking voice lessons and singing more, she also joined the school musical and thought it was the most fun she’d ever had.

When Gemma got to high school, she auditioned and got into her school’s show choir, called FAME. During FAME, she knew that writing wasn’t her only passion, but dancing and singing too. She wanted to share her talent and happiness with the world.

The start of 10th grade was very stressful for Gemma; she had a lot of school work, and it was getting hard to balance it with dance and FAME. But FAME was always her safe-haven. There, Gemma could be herself, and she met some of her best friends there, who helped her get through her rough times.

But, it’s not always bad to have rough times. Gemma learned a lot from all of her stress. She learned how to manage her time better, and she figured out her own ways to help maintain her mental health. Gemma started focusing on how she could better herself and grow her career. Finally, she pushed all of her worries aside and got to work. She set herself some pretty high goals, but she knew that she could make them reality if she just put her mind to it.

Gemma said: “I’m gonna start dancing more, and get better; I’m gonna start making a name for myself,”

“I’m gonna be valedictorian because I want to give that speech,”

“I’m going to go to an Ivy League for Liberal Arts and Humanities, and join the dance team.”

Then the coronavirus pandemic occurred, and her want to make a name for herself in dance/musical theatre came crashing down. But Gemma knew that if she stopped, she would never get there. Gemma continued dancing hard, doing her school work, and being productive (she even cleaned her ridiculously messy room). However, she didn’t always want to (she did take some movie days though hehe). She did school work and sewed, baked, danced, sang, read, and wrote her way out of laziness.

Gemma wanted to do something. She wanted to do something big. She had for a long time, but she didn’t get around to doing it because she still had school every day. Finally, online school ended, and Gemma was able to do even more. She wanted a project that she could work on during the summer to keep her busy and motivated. Gemma decided that she would redecorate her room, she’d wanted to for a while, but now she finally had the time to do it! But that wouldn’t take her all summer. She wasn’t sure what else she could do, but she was sitting and pondering life one day and an idea popped into her head:

“I’m going to start a blog!” She exclaimed.

She thought it was the perfect idea because she could share her ideas with the world. She thought of all the possibilities of what she could share: crafts, recipes, book and movie reviews, fun dances and workouts, look-books, little snippets of her life, and tips on managing time and stress as a teen.

She hopes that her blog will help start her on the path to setting her worries aside, accomplishing her dreams, and will inspire others to do the same.

The tour is now completed, have a beautiful day! Oh, and make sure to put in a good word for me at the front desk.
